From GAWDAwiki
Voltage-sensing wire feeder is a feeder that operates from arc voltage generated by a welding power source.[1] The wire feeder is powered from the welding voltage. The control circuit in the feeder will sense the arc voltage and adjust the wire feeding speed up/down to keep the arc voltage/arc length constant. The voltage sensing wire feeder is frequently used for welding with flux-cored wire.[2]
