A vacuum or fan device used by welders to remove hazardous smoke and particulate. Also known as fume extractors, local exhaust ventilators, and source capture air cleaners. Smoke eaters range from handheld portable devices to fixed postion central collection systems, and typically employ cleanable or changeable filters.[1]
