Welding shield

A welding shield is a piece of personal protective equipment which should be used to protect oneself from the bright light produced by arcs, sparks and spatter which are expelled from the weld and slag that is chipped off the weld.^[1]

Welding shields are often found in the form of helmets, but there are also hand shields available.
