SCUBA gases are the gases and mixtures used by SCUBA divers during some portion of their dive (descent, dive, ascent or decompression). The blend used determines both the length of the dive and the permissible depth. Common gas mixes include nitrox and trimix. Mixtures can be purchased as premixed cylinders or they can be produced on site with the use of a gas mixer.
