Reciprocating saw

A reciprocating saw is a handheld saw that moves a small blade back and forth rapidly when its trigger is depressed. Reciprocating saws are not designed for highly-detailed work, but for many projects they are a quick and effective tools.

A variety of blade types allow the saw to cut through countless materials including wood, tile, PVC piping, drywall and metal.[1]

A portable power saw with a reciprocating blade; can be used with a variety of blades depending on the application and kind of cut; generally have a plate that rides on the surface that is being cut.[2]
