Real-time locator system

From GAWDAwiki

Jump to: navigation, search

A real-time locator system (RTLS) is a locator system that uses RFID technology which allows objects to broadcast their real-time location to a terminal. An RFID tag is attached to a product or item and RF transmitters/receivers are able to track the location of the item and relay the information to the tracking system. These systems are generally too costly for regular inventory, and are instead used to track more valuable assets.[1]
