A powered air purifing respirator (PAPR) is a battery-operated mask consisting of a half or full facepiece, breathing tube, battery-operated blower and particle filter. The device uses a blower to pass contaminated air through a filter, removing the contaminant while at the same time pumping purified air into the facepiece.[1]
