Oxygen pressure swing adsorption
From GAWDAwiki
Oxygen pressure swing adsorption is a PSA process that yields oxygen as its result.
Oxygen Pressure Swing Adsorption Process
- Compression of feed air and conditioning: Air is compressed by an air compressor then dried and filtered.
- Adsorption: The pre-treated air enters a vessel filled with zeolite molecular sieve (ZMS) where nitrogen and other gases are adsorbed. (Adsorption and desorption occur simultaneously.)
- Desorption: The saturated ZMS is regenerated with a pressure release system. The adsorbed waste is vented into the atmosphere and regenerated adsorbent is purged with oxygen and used again for the generation of oxygen. (Adsorption and desorption occur simultaneously.)
- Oxygen receiver: A constant product flow and purity is maintained by a connected oxygen receiver.
- Optional backup system.
- Oxygen product: A constant flow of pure, on-site oxygen is produced.[1]
