Oxidizing

Oxidizing is a reaction where free oxygen atoms are contained and combine with metal to form metal oxides.^[1]

Change in the state of the atoms or ions of an element to a higher positive state by the loss of electrons. An oxidizing agent is an element that can remove electrons to another element.^[2]
