Overhead position

Overhead position is the position in which welding is performed from the underside of a joint and the face of the weld is approximately horizontal.^[1] It can also be thought of as when the axis angle is from 0^o-80^o and the face rotation is from 0^o–80^o or 280^o–360^o for groove welds or from 0^o–125^o or 235^o–360^o for fillet welds.^[2]
