Nozzle cleaning station

From GAWDAwiki

Jump to: navigation, search

A nozzle cleaning station clears a welding gun of spatter and removes debris from the diffuser. If a sprayer is included, it will protect the nozzle, diffuser and work piece from spatter after cleaning by applying a water- or oil-based anti-spatter agent.

Benefits

Proper cleaning is important in order to prolong the life of a welding gun and its components. Longer equipment life leads to less downtime, lower cost and reduced labor required for changeover. Furthermore, clean nozzles produce superior welds and reduce the risk of defects.

Considerations

Nozzle cleaning stations should be located near the welding location to make them accessible for prompt cleaning when needed. For maximum efficiency, cleaning should occur during part loading or tooling transfer.[1]
