Nitric oxide

Nitric oxide (NO) is a highly reactive gas that participates in many chemical reactions. It is one of the nitrogen oxides ("NOx") in automobile exhaust and plays a major role in the formation of photochemical smog.[1]
Nitric oxide is a colorless gas, formula NO, the most common form of nitrogen emitted into the atmosphere, either by fuel combustion or due to natural emissions.[2]
