Level I system

A Level I System is a gas system “serving occupancies where interruption of the piped medical gas and vacuum system would place patients in imminent danger of morbidity or mortality.” (NFPA-99 2005: 3.3.90)[1]

A Level I System is a welding system which performs operations of welding consumables handling falls into the first level of mechanization. Thus, so called "semiautomatic" gas metal arc (GMA), submerged arc (SA) and other welding systems, by this classification, should be referred to as welding mechanization of the first level (Ml).[2]
