Liquid oxygen (LOX) is a pale blue, extremely cold cryogenic liquid (a liquefied gas with a normal boiling point lower than -238°F or -150°C). Because of the vast temperature difference between the product and the surrounding environment, liquid oxygen must be insulated from surrounding heat.[1]
Liquid oxygen is nonflammable, oxygen is a strong oxidizer and is a cryogenic liquid.[2]
