Jump to: navigation, search

Hydrogen bromide is a compound used in the plasma etching of polysilicon. Hydrogen bromide is used in organic synthesis to add bromine atom on molecules (e.g. alkenes or alcools). The reactive species obtained are intermediates for pharmaceutical products. HBr is also a catalyst in alkylation of hydrocarbons. Inorganic bromides are produced from hydrogen bromide.[1]
