Gas chromatography

From GAWDAwiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Gas chromatography is a process in which a gas, often nitrogen, combines with a vaporized mixture that is then passed through a long column of adsorbent material to identify its constituents.[1]The sample is transported through the column by the flow of inert, gaseous mobile phase. The column itself contains a liquid stationary phase which is absorbed onto the surface of an inert solid.[2]
