Fused flux
From GAWDAwiki
Fused flux, in submerged arc welding, is a granular flux produced by mixing ingredients followed by a melting, cooling to the solid state and processing ro produce the desired particle size. See also agglomerated flux and bonded flux.[1]
Fused fluxes are produced by melting the raw materials into a liquid state using a high temperature electric furnace. The cooled material is then crushed or ground to the desired particle size. Fused fluxes are typically available in multiple grain sizes to allow optimum performance by application.[2]
