Flow meter
From GAWDAwiki
A flow meter is a device attached to a regulator that measures the flow of gas through a tube. It is made of a plastic or glass tube containing a floating indicator ball. As gas flows up the tube, it lifts the ball higher, allowing users to measure how much gas is flowing.

Use
The flow meter must be perfectly vertical to ensure an accurate reading. If the tube is tilted, the gas flow will not be centered and will result in an inaccurate measurement.
Considerations
Gas flow should be determined primarily by the thickness of the metal to be welded. Other factors include welding current, nozzle size, joint design, welding speed and whether the location where the welding occurs is free of drafts.[1]
