From GAWDAwiki
A diaphragm check valve is a valve with a flexible rubber diaphragm. Flow is allowed when pressure on the upstream side of the diaphragm is greater than it is on the downstream side. When the positive pressure subsides, the diaphragm returns to its closed position.[1]
