De-reeler

From GAWDAwiki

Jump to: navigation, search

In GMAW, FCAW or SMAW, a de-reeler is a device, usually mechanical or electro-mechanical, used to remove the welding wire/electrode from its packaged source, a reel, large or small, without tangling. Systems may employ all types of designs that reduce the force to remove the wire, keep the proper amount of tension on the wire and/or prevent wire backlash.[1]

Welding rod de-reelers may also be used with automatic, semiautomatic and robotic welding.[2]
