Contact tip
From GAWDAwiki
The contact tip is the portion of a MIG gun through which the welding wire feeds toward the weld puddle. It is responsible for maintaining the electrical contact needed to create an arc and is held in place by the retaining head (also called a gas diffuser) or the nozzle. Typically, contact tips are made of copper. [1]
