Consumable
From GAWDAwiki
The term consumable refers to any material consumed during the welding process or within the weld itself. Welding consumables include wire, rod, tungsten electrodes, and shielding gas.[1]
Different welding consumables are appropriate depending on the type of welding and the material being welded.[2]
In MIG welding, the term consumables can also refer to replaceable parts within a MIG gun, including the nozzle, contact tip, liner and retaining head (also called a diffuser). [3]
