Conduit
From GAWDAwiki
With regards to composite cable, conduit refers to the central/center core (also called the core tube) of the cable assembly that usually transfers shielding gas (if used) and welding wire/electrode. Conduits are made from various materials ranging from flexible polymers, thermoplastic or thermal set to wound steel.[1]
With regard to bulk welding electrode, a conduit is typically a hollow, flexible system for safely delivering welding wire /electrode from a bulk storage system over varied distances. Designs include metallic or polymer cored systems, reinforced to non-reinforced, dependent upon application and wire/electrode used.[2]
