Casing
From GAWDAwiki
In the GMAW process, a casing (similar to conduit) is typically a hollow, flexible system for safely delivering the welding wire/electrode from a bulk storage system over varied distances. Designs include polymer-cored or reinforced-steel cored systems, dependent upon the application and wire/electrode used.
A casing differs from a conduit in the way that it can exist as an independent entity apart from any water/cooling and gas hoses that might make up a composite cable assembly.[1]
