Band Transmissions: A machine which attaches to and travels around a stainless steel band to cut and bevel pipe. It is commonly referred to as a “crawler” or “spider” and may be either motorized or operated manually with the use of a flexible drive cable. The band transmission allows the torch to mount horizontally to minimize the amount of clearance needed around the pipe and is thus designed for use in a very confined space such as in a trench or a pipe run as found in refineries and chemical plants.[1]
