Air separation unit
From GAWDAwiki
An air separation unit, or ASU, is a facility designed to distill pure gases from air.[1]
Air separation facilities use either a cryogenic or non-cryogenic process. Cryogenic plants use very low temperatures to produce high-purity nitrogen, oxygen or other gases, while non-cryogenic plants use near-ambient temperatures to distill low-purity gases (e.g., 98% oxygen-free nitrogen, or 93% nitrogen-free oxygen).[2]
