Manufacturing technology orders for the year to date through July 2012 were $3,132.23 million, as reported by companies participating in the United States Manufacturing Technology Orders program, according to AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology. This total is up 5.4% compared with 2011. Technology orders during the month of July 2012 for metal forming and fabricating machines, including laser, welding and plasma equipment, totaled $75.37 million, a 69.6% increase over June. Year to date, metal forming & fabricating orders are up 0.4% over 2011.
