GAWDA Committee to Address LDA Crowd- 7/31/2012Representatives of the GAWDA Membership Services Committee will be on the agenda at the Linde Distributor Association (LDA) meeting to explain the many benefits of becoming a GAWDA member. The meeting will be held at the Omni Hotel & Resort in Austin, Texas, October 22 - 23, 2012. The LDA buying association has 78 independent member companies with over 400 retail locations throughout the country. The members represent approximately $1 billion in annual purchases and have earned about $26 million in rebates, achieved through compliance with their vendors, since its inception in 1993. GAWDA is the distributor industry’s foremost resource for safety and medical compliance information, education and networking. Craig Wood, GAWDA president-elect, says, “GAWDA membership would provide a great opportunity for all LDA Distributors, large or small, to bring additional value to their companies. GAWDA provides a single source for guidance on Department of Transportation, Food and Drug Administration and Compressed Gas Association matters, as well as answers to legal questions—with a simple phone call.” Wood, who is a member of the LDA Executive Board, is president of the Welding Division of O.E. Meyer, in Sandusky, OH. O.E Meyer is a founding member of the LDA. Mark Falconer, LDA co-chairman and president of Minneapolis Oxygen Company, headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, says, “Minneapolis Oxygen has been a GAWDA member for 55 years. We’ve found it to be a great help to our business, and I encourage all LDA members to consider joining GAWDA to take advantage of its many benefits.”
