Pipeline Company Donates to Welding Program - 2/4/2010
MidContinent Express Pipeline donated steel pipe to the Louisiana Technical College Delta-Ouachita campus this week that will be used by welding classes at the college.
The pipe, with an estimated value of between $6,000 and $10,000, is from the 500-mile natural gas pipeline project crossing the northern section of the state.
“In these difficult economic times, MEP wanted to provide surplus pipe for use by student welders,” said Allen Fore, director of community relations for Kinder Morgan. “This donation allows these students to work on quality pipe as they continue their education and prepare to enter the workplace.”
