A new showroom, warehouse and fully automated fill plant are boosting efficiencies at Gas and Supply’s Birmingham, AL, location. The 52,000 sq. ft. location offers improved access and exposure for customers, and greater ability to stock inventory with 30,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space. Gravimetric filling provides accuracy on automated filling of industrial and specialty mixes of oxygen, nitrogen, argon, carbon dioxide, helium. “The automated fill plant allows us to fill the maximum number of cylinders with a reduction in labor.  Two people are now filling between 400 and 500 cylinders a day,” says Larry Stokes, general manager for Gas and Supply’s Birmingham and Tuscaloosa locations.
