More than 500 people were on hand to celebrate Lubbock Welding Supply's (Lubbock, TX) 65^th Anniversary. Vendors held demonstrations in the company’s warehouse to escape the Texas heat, while a local artist set up shop outside, carving through 55-gallon barrels with a plasma cutting torch. “The fact that we’ve been here 65 years means we’re solid,” says Lubbock Welding Supply president Todd Ratheal. “We’ve made it through hard times before, and we’ve done a good job of weathering the storm so far. The event gave us a lot of exposure, and lets customers know we’re strong moving forward.” Lubbock Welding Supply has been in the Ratheal family since 1981, when it was purchased by Ratheal’s father, Larry Ratheal, a then 20-year veteran employee of the company.
