HeadlinesWorthington Industries Buys Gibraltar Industries Division- 2/3/2010Worthington Industries purchased the steel-processing division of Gibraltar Industries, a deal that will give Worthington a plant in Cleveland, OH, that is a metal supplier for Canadian currency. "We are bringing together two leading steel processing companies well known for a commitment to high-quality products and superior customer service," said John P. McConnell, Worthington's chairman and CEO, in a statement. Financial terms of the sale were not immediately available. About 150 Gibraltar employees will now work for Worthington, most of whom are at the Cleveland plant. Columbus, OH-based Worthington, which had about 6,300 employees before this transaction, will also take over Gibraltar's Detroit-area warehouse and the company's remaining steel-processing inventory.
