Tulsa Welding School Hosts Skill Olympics - 2/22/2010
Students from across the country crowded into Tulsa Welding School for a metal work competition on par with the Olympics.
"We had everyone booked in and signed up for this contest over 3 months ago. They have been allowed to prepare and study and we'll get to see who the better welder is," said Jamie Pierson, director of welding education.
Each participant had 1 hour to put together a specific model for judges to critique.
Tulsa Welding School has seen growth in its attendance over the last year. Plans are in the works to expand the campus, offering space for almost 800 students.
