Sandvik Materials Technology announced plans to restructure its wire and resistance strip operations. Over the next 18 months, Sandvik will reduce the work force at a plant in Sweden as it shifts the product mixed toward more advanced and profitable products in key segments, such as the energy sector. The restructuring will phase out wire products that are not part of Sandvik’s core business or that are not sufficiently profitable.
