On January 31, Sandvik celebrated 150 years to the day since Göran Fredrik Göransson founded the company, based in Sweden. At that time, Sandvik was first in the world to use the Bessemer process, which would revolutionize steel manufacturing. In honor of the milestone, Sandvik hoisted an anniversary flag and put on a fireworks display in Sandviken, Sweden. Various events will be arranged at all of Sandvik’s sites worldwide throughout the year.
