SMC Wraps In Asheville - 4/24/2009
GAWDA’s second SMC of 2009 came to a close today in Asheville, NC, the hometown of 2009 GAWDA President Britt Lovin (pictured). Distributors, suppliers and their spouses were treated to four days of Southern hospitality and endless opportunities for networking and industry-specific education. Attendees heard from speakers on a variety of topics, including the shortage of certified welders, the future of the economy, cylinder management strategies, improving bottom-line performance, emerging markets for gases and Workers’ Compensation issues. The Contact Booth Program also was a big hit, as distributors and suppliers discussed the latest industry innovations. The conference concluded with the Young Executives Program, where young professionals learned about managing family businesses.
GAWDA appreciates all who attended. If you missed it, go to www.gawda.org to download the presentations. Don’t miss the next chance to gather with your industry peers, September 19-22, at the Annual Convention in San Antonio.
