Computer memory manufacturer Kingston used liquid nitrogen to help break the record for memory frequency at a recent computer gaming convention. The company used a 2,333 MHz memory kit and overclocked it to a record-setting frequency of 3,068MHz. The cryogenic gas was used to cool the computer’s processor and memory to -110°C in order to keep the system stable and allow the team to reach such high frequencies.
