Jenny McCall Elected President - 9/22/2009
Jenny McCall, 39, president of WESCO Gas & Welding Supply in Prichard, Alabama, was elected 2009-10 president of the Gases and Welding Distributors Association (GAWDA) on Wednesday, September 22. McCall is the first woman to lead the 65-year-old association which is made up of distributors, manufacturers and suppliers of gases and welding equipment located throughout North America.
Amid loud cheers from almost 700 delegates, McCall was inaugurated as president flanked by 12 men who served as GAWDA presidents before her. In her inaugural address, she pledged to help members meet the many challenges facing the industry in the coming year and concluded by saying, "The challenge is yours: Set the trail. Never follow. Get in the game."
