Inweld Corp, S&D Acquired

- 5/6/2009
Billings, MT - American Welding & Gas, Inc., has acquired Inweld Corp of Indianapolis, IN, and S&D Welding Supply of Menominee, MI. The acquisitions bring six branches and two standalone propane locations to American Welding & Gas, giving the company a new total of 29 branches and six standalone propane locations. All employees of Inweld Corp and S&D Welding Supply will continue working with American Welding & Gas.

“We are very proud to welcome Inweld Corp and S&D Welding to our business,” says Ron Adkins, president of American Welding & Gas. “We believe in treating our employees, customers and vendors with the highest levels of respect and helping them become experts in our fields.”

The acquisition of Inweld Corp marks American Welding & Gas’ first foray into Illinois and Indiana. Adkins sees great opportunities in these areas.

“The Midwest is a great place to do business and we will continue to expand as opportunities arise,” says Adkins. “The economy may be a bit slow at the present time, but we have faith in these areas and we are glad to expand our footprint in the market. We are actively looking for other opportunities such as these.”

“We are excited to join the American Welding & Gas team and continue to support our customers in the tradition to which they have become accustomed,” says Fred Semenik, general manager of American Welding & Gas’ Indiana group and former executive vice president of Inweld Corp. “My employees and I have been very impressed with American Welding & Gas. They have done everything they said they would for our employees.”
