Hydrogen Blast Rocks Steel Plant - 7/25/2011
A hydrogen explosion occurred at Duferco Farrell Corp, a steel plant in Farrell, PA, during a hydrogen storage tank refill Sunday night. The driver of the Air Liquide tanker, which held 6,000 gallons of hydrogen, was hooking the truck up to a storage tank containing 12,000 to 14,000 gallons of hydrogen when the explosion went off. The driver and one other worker were injured and taken to the hospital.
