GAWDA Seeks Hazmat Fee Reduction

- 7/12/2012

GAWDA is working with a coalition of associations representing shippers and carriers of hazardous materials in all modes seeking a reduction of the annual hazardous materials registration fee. Currently, large companies pay $3,000 a year, and small companies (defined by Small Business Administration regulations) pay $250 annually. The payments are used to support the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration’s Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness fund.
