GAWDA Golfs At Grove Inn - 4/22/2009
On a sunny, cold morning in the mountains of Asheville, NC, 60 golfers set out to tackle the rolling hills of the 6,700-yard, par-70 course at the Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa on the second day of GAWDA’s Spring Management Conference. Described as “the finest expression of mountain golf around,” the Donald Ross course was named by Golfweek magazine as one of America’s Best Resort Courses and one of the best courses to play in North Carolina. Elevated tee boxes and fairways crowned by the beautiful vista of the Blue Ridge Mountains formed the backdrop for an intense competition among GAWDA members.
Local son and GAWDA President Britt Lovin (second from left), vice president of Andy Oxy Company, turned in a gross score of 79, making him the #1 golfer of the day. With a net score of 66, Indiana Oxygen Company’s Wally Brant came in at #2, followed closely by the 68 net score of Commonwealth Supply Company’s Bob Ames. AWISCO’s Lloyd Robinson turned in a notable gross score of 82.
The best score turned in by a GAWDA Supplier belonged to Chris Finn of FIBA Technologies, who scored 84 (gross) and 69 (net).
