Sixteen amateur and professional teams of welders competed for tools and cash prizes by creating sculptures from scrap metal in the 11th Annual Welding Rodeo at Bellingham Technical College in Bellingham, WA. Central Welding Supply (North Lakewood, WA) Sales Manager Marshall Judy spearheaded the distributor’s support of the event. “It’s great to be able to get involved and support these young welders. Having been a part of the Welding Rodeo for 11 years, we’re seeing former participants who have gone on to management positions and are now customers of ours.” Hundreds of people came to view the event, which raised thousands of dollars in student scholarships and brought community awareness to the BTC welding program. “We are ever grateful for Marshall Judy of Central Welding for continued sponsorship, support and assistance through 11 years of rodeos,” says BTC Welding Instructor Mary Kuebelbeck.
