Automation Drives Innovative Welding - 6/1/2012
The need for automation is materializing the demand for customized welding solutions that have brought about the emergence of innovative technologies, according to Frost & Sullivan, which is expected to be the primary growth driving factor in the future. Regional customization of products according to price and application suitability also helps broaden its scope of application and demand.
Standard automation SAW equipment had a higher market share in 2011. However, the demand for engineered automation SAW equipment is expected to increase in the future. Though the shift toward alloyed SAW consumables is expected to be slow, increasing awareness and training programs, acceptance among global manufacturers and usage in the energy, defense and construction industries are expected to drive its demand in the long term.
Budget cuts on welding are however expected to limit the growth of the global SAW market, pushing its pre-recession level rebounds till the end of 2016.
