Patrick Wright, founder of Argyle Welding Supply, passed away on Saturday, September 3, at the age of 89. Born in Scotland, Mr. Wright proudly served as a Royal Marine Commando in the British Army during World War II. After the war, and numerous sales jobs, he moved his wife Elizabeth and family to Canada. Shortly thereafter, he began his career in the welding supply business with Liquid Air. He later came to the United States and worked in sales and management for National Cylinder Gas (NCG), moving across the country numerous times. In 1975, Mr. Wright purchased the NCG location in Albuquerque, NM, and started the family business, Argyle Welding Supply. “He was a great husband, father, grandfather and mentor for all of us,” says his son Jim Wright, now president of the company. “He touched the lives of so many and we will miss him dearly.”
