Abbott Welding Supply, located in Olean, NY, awarded its Abbott Welding Achievement Awards to seven students at area schools. Students from Alfred State College (Alfred, NY), Seneca Highlands Area Vocational Technical School (Port Alleghany, PA) and three Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) schools in New York were selected by instructors and peers for their positive attitudes and improvement in welding.

“The award promotes welding in a positive light and creates a positive atmosphere for welding in our community,” says Mike Higgins, president of Abbott Welding Supply. “We foster the students’ growth in welding and hopefully they will remember that in the future and do business with us.”

The seven recipients were given $50 gift certificates to Abbott Welding Supply with the award. Abbott Welding Supply has sponsored the award for 20 years.
