Solenoid valve

Solenoid valves control flow with electrical energy. An electromagnet acts as the actuator. When the valve is energized, a magnetic field builds up, pulling a plunger or pivoted armature against a spring. When the valve is de-energized, spring action returns the plunger or pivoted armature to its original position.^[1]
