A face shield protects a worker's face from small particles when a sander, grinder, etc. is used. Face shields have a transparent eye panel that allows the worker to see.[1] Face shields due not qualify as "eye protection" under OSHA requirements and safety glasses must be worn under them if eye protection is required. Face shields are designed to provide additional face protection.[2]
