Acceptable weld

From GAWDAwiki

Jump to: navigation, search

An acceptable weld is a weld that meets all requirements and acceptance criteria of design and welding specifications.[1]

Welding specifications, as opposed to welding standards, cover requirements for voluntary adoption and no enforcement is meant unless they are agreed upon between procuring agency and contractor as spelled out in a purchase order. Standards are the industry conventions, rather than the specifications for a specific contract.[2]
