Flat welding position

Flat welding position is a weld produced in the flat or 1G position.^[1]

In the flat welding position, the face of the weld is horizontal, welding is carried out from above, with the electrode pointing downward and the weld bead horizontal. In a flat position, both slope and rotation are limited within 10 degrees.^[2]
